Kindergarten Korner

A busy week ahead –Spirit Week-“The Wonderful World of CLS”!  And it is reading test week for Kindergarten!

Reading-Testing Week for the kiddos using the testing materials from our reading series!  The testing will occur during the morning hours so please try to be at school by 8:00 a.m. each day so that we can get started in a timely manner!!  I know it is sometimes difficult but try to allow plenty of rest for your child and a good breakfast will help them to think!  Thanks for your help!  I will get you the results to you in a couple of weeks!

Math-We are having fun with our dominoes-matching numbers and adding!!  Something new will be answering survey questions on a chart (such as “Which do you like better-hot dogs or hamburgers?).  From these charts the children see which choice has more names written below it….Which has less?  What does the class like best? We will also learn about the “cone” shape.

Science/Social Studies- Earth Day is Monday so we will continue to talk about taking care of the earth with some special activities.  Then we will move on to learning a little about our great state of Arkansas!!

Campbell Labels/Labels for Education-Keep saving and be watching for a year end push-it involves an ice cream party for the class with the most and we want that to be KINDERGARTEN!!   Yea!!!

Kindergarten Graduation-Monday, May 20th at 7:00 p.m.!   The children will need to be in the classroom by 6:30 dressed in their Sunday finery as a professional photographer will take a class picture which will be made available for you to purchase!

Spirit Week-Next week-April 22-26!!  Check out the flier sent home earlier in the week for details!

Final Field Trip-Tuesday, May 7 at Witt Stephens Nature Center!  We will leave school at 9:40 and return by 1:30.  We will have an hour workshop at the nature center on mammal camouflage followed by a picnic and play time at River Front Park. The children may wear play clothes for the day-sneakers recommended!  Drivers are needed so please consider spending the day with the kiddos.  See the attached permission form for further details-return by Monday, April 29th!!
