Kindergarten Korner

Whew, what a wild and crazy week!  It should have been short and normal!!!   The weather made it long and crazy!  But, praise God for just wet and not icy conditions!   He is good!!

Religion-Continuing to talk about Jesus and His ministry…with our new focus on the parables He told!

Reading-Finally vowel Ee as heard at the beginning of egg, Edward, and Everett (but not Elizabeth-sorry, young lady)!  -et words will be a focus with our new vowel.

Math-Nickels and paying for items up to 50c!  I would recommend taking nickels and having your child slide and count by 5’s.  We seem to forget 15, 25, 35 and 45!  We have a new card game we will play by ordering and comparing numbers 1-10-you may even know it as “War”!

ABC patterning will be reviewed!

Science/Social Studies-Finishing up patriotism!!!  Talking “snakes, reptiles” at Nature Club with a special guest!!

UALR-We will be going to “the theater” to attend the play(s)??? “Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs” on Wednesday, March 6 leaving school around 9:15 and returning by 11:30.  The children will need to bring their own lunch that day-we will “picnic” in the room after our return!!  Please return the permission form by next Wednesday, February 27!

Nature Club-We have a planting project coming up and need empty cube shaped boxes-like the Kleenex cube size.  Please send these to school as soon as possible!!!!

Campbell Labels/Labels for Education-Keep saving and be watching for a year end push-it involves an ice cream party for the class with the most and we want that to be KINDERGARTEN!!   Yea!!!

"Wild about CLS" school auction on Saturday, March 9 at the Pleasant Valley Country Club!  There are some awesome trips to bid on during the live auction!  Do not miss this special event!

Kindergarten Korner

  Love, love that’s what it’s all about…what a fun Valentine’s party!!   Thank you parents for all the goodies!   And thank you for the auction ticket which I am excited about attending…and you should be also-Saturday, March 9!  Mark your calendar and show that you are “Wild about CLS”!  It is worth the admission price!!!  Be watching for all the awesome details!!

Religion-It’s all about Jesus and His ministry!  Preaching, teaching and serving!

Reading-New letters-Vv as heard at the beginning of vase, vegetable and vowel and letter Jj as we hear at the beginning of Jack, Jimmy and Jesus!!   New sight words will be Come, come and Look, look!

Math-We will be working with nickels-counting them up to 25c.  We will learn to identify items that are cylinder shaped (the can shape)!

Science/Social Studies-Being and staying healthy!!!!    Patriotism (Raise the flag)!!!!

Kindergarten Korner

                           

Dear Parents,

                           

                      Busy, that would be us!  It’s good to be back in the routine!

Religion- Lent begins with Ash Wednesday.  We will also finish up learning about Jesus and His miracles of love!

Reading-Review of  -op, -ot and –ox word families! We will write sentences and then learn to revise them. 

Math-ABC patterning will be practiced with our pattern blocks and other manipulatives.  We will have fun with “some, some more” stories and “some, some went away stories (i.e.-addition and subtraction).  Estimating the capacity in a container (which of 3 containers holds the most Teddy Bear counters) which I know the kids will enjoy!!

Science/Social Studies-Continue talking about taking care of our teeth and Nurse Barker will have a lesson about our hearts/heart health during Nature Club!
