Kindergarten Korner

Merry Christmas,
Great job, “Christmas Jubilee” children!  The teachers and staff were very proud of the job the children did in presenting their Christmas joy with you and for their Savior, Jesus!
A special thank you to the room moms for a wonderful Christmas party!  The kids  certainly enjoyed all the fun!  Thank you also for all the kind remembrances shown to me!
I simply want to wish all of you a Christmas that is filled with Him whose birth we  celebrate!  Be safe and blessed this Holy season!  See you all back on Monday, January 7!  Remember to return nap covers!

                                                       A Final Thought:
                                        When
                                                my Christmas joy
                                                freezes into
                                                a snow job
                                        And
                                               my holiday plans
                                               elaborate
                                               till I’m
                                                           wrapped in the trappings
                                                           trapped in the wrappings
                                       Lord
                                             untangle me
                                             help me get
the tinsel out of my hair
                                             refresh me
                                                         with a look
                                                         at the gift
                                                         of your Son.

Kindergarten Korner

                                                                                                Friday, December 14

We are down to the final week before Christmas break.  And a busy week it will be!!!

Religion-The Christmas story will be our focus as well as our practices for the special service on Thursday evening!!

Reading-it, -ig, and –it words will be reviewed.
Math-We will continue to use dimes-using them to purchase items from our “store”!  We are going to match numbers with sets of items using our dot cubes-the kiddos always enjoy this activity.

Science/Social Studies-Christmas, Christmas, Christmas with discussion of other December holidays as well!

Chapel-We have now collected $220.13 for the Giving Tree.  The purchasing is just about finalized with the addition of some warm winter clothing for each child!  The gifts are being wrapped and ready to be picked up on Monday!  Thank you so much for sharing the true meaning of Christmas with these foster children!  Any money received this next week will go to assist classrooms that need extra money!

Christmas Service-Thursday, December 20 dress rehearsal is at 8:15 a.m. and the children are to wear their regular school apparel (parents/grandparents who cannot come to the evening service are cordially invited). The evening service is at 6:30 and the children are asked to wear school uniform OR NICER (this is the chance for the children to get all dressed up in their Christmas finery).  All children are expected to be in attendance for the evening service-please let me know if you have a conflict! The children have been asked to be in their classrooms by 6:00 p.m. that evening.  Thanks for your cooperation!

Chapel Buddies-It is a tradition for K/8th grade chapel buddies to exchange gifts at Christmas.  Gift cards are a great idea for our buddies.  Do not plan to spend more than $5.00 for this gift!!  Our Christmas gathering is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 21-first thing in the a.m. so please be sure to have your child’s buddy gift here by that morning-thanks!!

Jesus Birthday Party-On Friday, Dec. 21-1:00 p.m.-during this party the classroom children each bring a gift for another child in the room.  I have the boys bring a gift for a boy and the girls each bring a gift for a girl.  These need to be wrapped and simply labeled with a tag that tells who the gift is from-we do not purchase for a specific person.  I have my special system in place for the time when we have the classroom exchange!  Again please do not spend more than $5.00! Please have these gifts at school by Thursday, Dec. 20 so that I do not panic!!  Thanks again!!

A Gentle Reminder-The children are to wear white socks, stockings and leggings with their SNEAKERS!  Also during the colder winter months long sleeved t-shirts and turtlenecks are to be white as well.  Thanks for cooperating!!

Stocking Stuffer Ideas: Many of the children can use new crayons for school.  Some fresh glue sticks and glue bottles are also appreciated!!!

Thank You to Hamilton and family for the donation of a new floor puzzle of the SOLAR SYSTEM!!  Looking forward to watching the children as they put that together –maybe next week!!
