Kindergarten Korner

A little craziness is always good (Red Ribbon Day, Halloween), but I am looking forward to a week of the normal routine!  Well, almost routine...there is the field trip, but of great value to the children!

****GOOD NEWS: THINGS SEEM TO BE RETURNING TO NORMAL…MORNING DROP-OFF/AFTERNOON PICKUP WILL MOVE BACK TO THE GYM PARKING LOT BEGINNING NEXT WEEK!****

RELIGION: The stories of Hannah, Samuel and King Saul will be shared with the children!

READING: New letters-Gg as heard at the beginning of green, glue and gate (not the gym/giraffe sound)!  And Ff- the fish, fence and face sound!  Homework alert!!  New sight words will be: On, on; To, to!

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming next week November 4th-8th!  Come and do some of your Christmas shopping and help Christ Lutheran School at the same time. Check out the info placed in your child’s folder for ALL the details!!!

MATH-We will be looking at a number line from 0-10 and talking about what comes before, after and between numbers!!  Now that we recognize a penny we will use our pennies to count up to 10¢, write money amounts up to 10¢ and order money to 10¢!  We will play a game, “What Shape Doesn’t Belong?”  More problem solving-act it out, draw it out!!  Busy math week!

Social Studies-Leaving Germany and heading to Kenya…talk about a change of scenery!!

SCIENCE- We didn’t get our squirrels and chipmunks completed last week...so we will enjoy those interesting creature during the week ahead!

Field Trip to Central Fire Station- next Thursday, November 7-leaving school at 9:15 and returning about 11:15. We would like the children to wear their blue CLS spirit shirts for the day!  Remember to send your child’s booster seat before school that morning and place in hallway outside our classroom-thanks!

KINDERGARTEN WILL ENJOY THEIR FREE TAG DAY ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 14!!

FALL BACK:  Remember to turn your clock back one hour this Saturday night!  You get that hour back that you lost last spring!!!  And you want to be on time for church and Sunday school!
