Kindergarten Korner

Kindergarten is off and running after our first eight days of school!  Still working to get those daily routines under our belts!! Here is what happening next week!

RELIGION: We will be studying “men of faith”-Noah and Abraham

READING-Working on early literacy skills-words are made up of letters-even our names,  looking at color words  and number words, practicing our listen skills and talking about the beginning, the middle and the end  of a story.

MATH-Learning to trace our numbers 0-9, graphing (most, fewest), exploring with our Teddy Bear Counters  and Pattern Blocks, practicing one-to-one correspondence, making AB patterns and using positional words like over, under , beside, between (etc.).  Whew, seems like a lot to do!!

Social Studies-Around the world we go learning terms like oceans and continents!  Also talking about community helpers.

SCIENCE-Got our radish and spinach seeds planted.  Then along with the other classes planting things like carrots, snap peas, arugula sounds like we may be eating salad in 6-8 weeks.  We are excited about watching our seeds grow!

Announcement:  Happy Birthday, Hope (1st grade), on the 29th!!
