Kindergarten Korner

                           

Dear Parents,

                           

                      Busy, that would be us!  It’s good to be back in the routine!

Religion- Lent begins with Ash Wednesday.  We will also finish up learning about Jesus and His miracles of love!

Reading-Review of  -op, -ot and –ox word families! We will write sentences and then learn to revise them. 

Math-ABC patterning will be practiced with our pattern blocks and other manipulatives.  We will have fun with “some, some more” stories and “some, some went away stories (i.e.-addition and subtraction).  Estimating the capacity in a container (which of 3 containers holds the most Teddy Bear counters) which I know the kids will enjoy!!

Science/Social Studies-Continue talking about taking care of our teeth and Nurse Barker will have a lesson about our hearts/heart health during Nature Club!

 UALR-We will be going to “the theater” to attend the play(s)??? “Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs” on Wednesday, March 6 leaving school around 9:15 and returning by 11:30.  The children will need to bring their own lunch that day-we will “picnic” in the room after our return!!

Nature Club-We have a planting project coming up and need empty cube shaped boxes-like the Kleenex cube size.  Please send these to school during the next few weeks!!

Parent/Teacher Conferences-There is no specific day scheduled but I would be more than happy to chat with you about your child.  If I do not contact you and you wish to visit with me simply email me or send a note and I will be most willing to work out a time when we can get together.   Thanks!
